Betsy Veldman. I had seen a card on her blog using dark cardstock, white ink and Zing embossing powders and knew I wanted to try it out! I started with a dark gray cardstock and stamped in white pigment ink using the Two Step Sprig set. As the name implies, the stamps can be stamped one on top of the other to add detail to the flowers.
Once the ink dried, I went back and stamped the leaves with a Versamark ink and heat embossed with this terrific bright green Zing embossing powder. I then did the same with the flowers, using a bright pink. One that was done, I added the sentiment and embossed it using white embossing powder. (Don't tell Claire, but the sentiment is from another new set we'll be sharing tomorrow. I cheated and used it today!)
Again, everything was heat embossed and the sentiment came from the Camellia set. I love the little roses in this set! They are simple, but very sweet. I used a ruler and white gel pen to add the border around the card:
You'll notice that the leaves in Simple Sprig are almost identical to the ones in Two Step Sprig, only in this set the leaves are not solid and have veining in them.
And one more card, this time showing you a bit of the Funky Flowers set:
And, once again, I cheated and used a new sentiment from a set we'll be sharing tomorrow. Ooops! I just couldn't resist: they were meant to go with these florals! This last card utilizes the cut files that coordinate with the set, which makes things so much easier! I love how the flower pops out from the card and I added a little rhinestone sparkle to the center. Again, I love the detail Claire has infused into these gorgeous florals!
Please check out the design team and see what they have blooming for you today:
Thanks again for joining me! We have one more day of peeks, so come back tomorrow!
