Waltzingmouse Stamps DT Blog Waltz

Today the Waltzingmouse Stamps design team is having a blog waltz to share their favorite WMS set (or sets, as the case may be!).  While it is cruel and unusual punishment to make us pick just one, there is a particular set that I seem to come back to time and time again:

Roses in Bloom is such a beautifully illustrated set.  And I adore the fonts and sentiments included in the set.  It’s a much more versatile set than one might think.

I really love how orange and blue look together!  I think (I know) I'm ready for spring, judging by these bright, cheery colors.  Although it's hard to tell, I used the Musical Backgrounds set to create a distressed background onto the cream cardstock.  The roses were stamped and colored with Copics.  I was going for a watercolor feel:

Now, for something completely different:

You may not find gray roses in nature, but I think they make a stunning, graphic background on this card!  I used my Copics again, but left more white space on the roses.  I used my blender pen a lot, too, to remove some color.  Definitely achieved a more artistic look, almost like a charcoal drawing.

I think I can even pass this off as an anniversary card for my husband this year.  What do you think?

If you’d like to see more of this set, you can see some of my favorite cards here, here, here and here.  (See, I told you I love this set!)

Well I didn't think I could pick a favourite, but you've reminded me that I go to this set again and again too! Your cards are both so different but both lovely.

Jennifer WOW! I love the punch of color on the first one - the perfect color all poppies should be and then the monochromatic - what a contrast! Great way to show off your style and the versatility of this set.

I've always loved these roses and you've made two stunning cards. I love the bold orange against the soft blue and musical background. But it's the dramatic, graphic and bold grey roses that I absolute Love. I think it would make a super guy card!

Beautiful, Jennifer, just beautiful. The coloring on the first card is so vibrant, and I love the subtle music background. The gray roses are very cool - you could definitely use them for your best guy.
