Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Sneak Peek: North Shore

Thanks for joining me today for another peek at one of the new Waltzingmouse Stamps sets being released July 1. Are you ready for some fun in the sun?  Today the Design Team is featuring another one of the new mini sets called North Shore.  First I thought I’d share my inspiration for today’s project:

DE1138

I am too young (cough, cough) to have seen this movie when it was released in 1966, but I knew about the movie and did some research online because I wanted to create the same vintage feel when creating my summer surf party invite:

The best part of this party?  You’re invited, too!  Today I'm sharing just the invitation I made using the North Shore set, but tomorrow you'll get to see much, much more.  Oops...did I give you a hint as to the theme of tomorrow's set? Tee hee hee...

So let's start with the card base on this invite.  The wood grain border stamp from Way out West makes for great drift wood when used with gray distress ink!  As for the focal point, I decided to stamp and cut out the large image included in this set.  When I cut it out I purposefully left out the bottom portion ("Legendary Summer 2012") so that I could stamp it again and use it on the card seperately.  Love it!

For the inside, I created my invite details on my computer using a pair of great fonts I found online.  If you are interested, you can find them here and here.  I think they are the perfect finishing touches for this vintage surf party invite!

Now make sure you come back tomorrow for the full reveal of my little surf party, including some peeks at yet another new Waltzingmouse set!  And make sure you stop in on the other design team members to see what they’ve created:

Anya Schrier
Bonnie Sharp
Claire Brennan
Clare Buswell
Julia Aston
Jennifer Holmes (you’re here!)
Kelly Schirmer
Laurie Schmidlin
Lynn Mercurio
Mona Pendleton
Sandie Dunne
Tosha Leyendekker

Have a great day!

Love your ENDLESS Summer inspiration (I was in my early teens when that movie came out and I remember how everyone went crazy over it! The Beach Boys were really big then as well!)

I love how you separated the image from the sentiment - the great colors, paper tearing and woodgrain stamping!

What a super invite Jennifer - I look forward to seeing the "rest of the story"!!!

Wow! You put all the elements of the seashore together in ways that make ones mind just "see" it there. I am sincerely impressed.
