It's time for the June Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party! It's been several months since I've had a chance to play along, so I'm excited to be joining the party today. This month we are creating projects based on this inspiration photo:
I decided to kill two birds with one stone (isn't than an awful expression?!) and created a Father's Day gift card holder for my step dad using the inspiration photo for my colors and design:
I utilized one of my go to masculine sets, otherwise known as Back in the Saddle. The recipient always gets a kick out of this one! Since I was working off of memory, I didn't quite get all the colors right. I could have sworn the photo included chocolate brown...but alas, it's gray! Oh well...I did manage to utilize the blue/green color and I did work in a rectangle shape. I like to call this one "cowboy chic" since I threw in some unexpected houndstooth from Heirloom Patterns. I used in on the front and on the inside:
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll join the party! If you do, make sure to link up here on Claire's blog. And I couldn't let the day go by without sharing a sweet photo in honor of my husband for Father's Day:
I hope all of the fathers and father figures in your life enjoyed their special day!
