June Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party

It's time for the June Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party!  It's been several months since I've had a chance to play along, so I'm excited to be joining the party today.  This month we are creating projects based on this inspiration photo:

I decided to kill two birds with one stone (isn't than an awful expression?!) and created a Father's Day gift card holder for my step dad using the inspiration photo for my colors and design:

I utilized one of my go to masculine sets, otherwise known as Back in the Saddle.  The recipient always gets a kick out of this one!  Since I was working off of memory, I didn't quite get all the colors right.  I could have sworn the photo included chocolate brown...but alas, it's gray!  Oh well...I did manage to utilize the blue/green color and I did work in a rectangle shape.  I like to call this one "cowboy chic" since I threw in some unexpected houndstooth from Heirloom Patterns.  I used in on the front and on the inside:

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll join the party!  If you do, make sure to link up here on Claire's blog.  And I couldn't let the day go by without sharing a sweet photo in honor of my husband for Father's Day:

I hope all of the fathers and father figures in your life enjoyed their special day!

Oh dear, Jennifer, I read that color as chocolate brown as well! Let's blame it on our monitors! What a great guy card. TFS!

Ohhh love this, Jennifer! How funny because we paired the same sentiment...in brown! I thought it was brown TOO! Great minds and computer screens think alike, hee! Love how the cowboy is behind the sentiment in the lighter color...and that background is FAB with the mix of houndstooth and woodgrain!

Jennifer, Sorry I'm late for the party! While I love your card I gotta say the sweet photo of your DH stole the show for me! I am a sentimental fool and that photo spoke volumes to me!
