Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Sneak Peek: Half Pint Heroines

I’m so excited to be back on the blog after taking a much needed (yet unexpected) break!  I didn’t mean to be away so long, but to make up for it I’m coming back strong with four days of Waltzingmouse Stamps goodness!  Today is day one of the May release sneak peeks and the design team is sharing projects showcasing Half Pint Heroines, one of three sets being released on May 8.

This adorable set is a feminine follow up to Half Pint Heroes. Around my house, we are quite familiar with some very popular heroines, thanks to my seven year old daughter.  I even found some inspiration that suited us both:

Aren't they just adorable?  I kept my coloring pretty loose on this, to give it more of a casual, watercolored look.

And I love the font combo in this set.  It has been one of my favorites since the original Half Pint set!

This card was also inspired by my daughter, Olivia.  I thought this would make a great lunch box card.  She loves getting surprises at school.  And, because it's for her, I just had to make a pink hot air balloon.  She would travel in no!  I mounted my balloon with foam dimensionals to make it pop out a bit.  I colored my image with Copic makers and used my blender pen to add some pattern.

The clouds were created thanks to this technique I learned from fellow design team member, Belinda.  This makes great clouds every time!  I tend to just freehand cutting the shape rather than use a punch, but you can do whatever suits you best.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Make sure you visit the other design team members to catch a glimpse of more Half Pint Heroines:

Outstanding, Jennifer. Love the clean lines to both your projects today. The four-square card is adorable, and the freckles you added to the little red-head (makes me totally smile). I love what you have done with this set!

And then that gorgeous balloon...
