Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party

Happy Saturday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Today is the monthly Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party and today we have the fun theme of St. Patrick's Day/Irish.  The Blog Party is every 17th and you can link up your projects on Claire's blog here.  And, as if that weren't enough excitement, today is also the day to share a new Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge

And I decided to pre-plan (for once!) and combine these two events into one card:

I jumped at the chance to use the wonderful houndstooth pattern stamp in Anya's new Heirloom Patterns set, released last month.  I love it!  Really, is there any card that couldn't use a little houndstooth?!  For my shamrock I stamped three little hearts from Sweethearts and punched them out with the small heart punch by EK Success.  The lined border stamp in Heirloom Patterns makes for a convenient stem for my shamrock.  For the sentiment, I used a stamp from L'il Buddies and selectively inked it to say "lucky to have you," rather than "so clucky to have you."

I think I'll give this one to my daughter with a little box of Lucky Charms cereal...right after we set up our leprechaun trap.  Does anyone else have kids that insist on doing this each year?!?  We haven't been able to catch one yet, but he does manage to leave a few gold coins behind while making a rushed exit.

Thanks for joining the party and have a great St. Patrick's Day!

SO cute, Jennifer! I was wondering what set that adorable sentiment came from :) The houndstooth looks amazing! Yes, for the FIRST time we set a leprechaun trap! Our guy also escaped, but he left behind lots of green (or should I say Basil from Fresh Ink???) footprints, a bit of glitterm and a dollar bill for each girl ;) My husband lamented that Mr. Leprechaun did not leave behind gold coins, but I told him with this "new" idea from the girls, he probably didn't have enough time to exchange the bills at the BANK, heee!

Such a sweet card:) This is the first year I've heard of leprechaun traps. My boys are 12, so they may not go for it, lol!

Wonderful CAS card! My kindergartners spent a whole recess looking for traces of the leprechaun! (Which I had conveniently placed outside!) LOL!

I love your combination of greens and your heart shamrock (with it's center button). Yes, we have to have a leprechaun trap as well. We have never caught one either. This year it appears that the leprechaun had a pocket knife and was able to escape by cutting a hole in the box.

Fabulous CAS card... I keep thinking I don't need a background stamp like that, but now that I see this card I might change my mind.

Love it! The heart shamrock is cute, and the sentiment fits it perfectly! And I agree - every card should have a little houndstooth! ;)
