I love the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. I especially love decorating my home for the holiday season. Here are a few photos I snapped the other night. Night being the key word here...not the best shots, but you get the idea...
Here is a close up of one of my two Christmas trees (because I just couldn't stop at one!):
The colors I used on this tree were deep burgundy, bronze, chocolate brown, and gold. Here are some close up shots of my second tree (the entire tree shot was too blurry to post). The colors on this tree are a little more subdued: pale gold, white, bronze, chocolate, and kraft. First, the German glass glittered letter project I made last year for my "Deck the Halls" hanging banner:
And a simpler version of this ornament, made with my vintage sheet music:
My mantle this year didn't really get done all the way, but it grew on me so I decided to leave it alone and go with it. I also decided to leave up my coffee filter wreath I made for fall, as well as the vases I spray painted white to resemble milk glass. So simple, but I love it:
I also love my new battery operated candles. They are on timer and go on right after we get home and go off right after we go to bed. I love the soft glow:
And, lastly, in my kitchen I've created a little holiday vignette by cutting vinyl with my awesome Silhouette digital cutter and adding it to some inexpensive white plates. For this very purpose I'm so glad I bought a plain white cookie jar! It will be updated seasonally from now on:
I hope you are enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells around your house this season. Cookie making is right around the corner for me so some sweet smells will be filling the kitchen soon!
