Waltzingmouse Stamps November SOAP - Day 4

Today’s the last day of Waltzingmouse Stamps November Stamp of Approval Parade (SOAP) and I don’t want it to end!  It’s been so much fun to see all the special holiday craftiness, don’t you agree?  And the best part of the whole thing is that I've managed to get some projects crossed off my list!  And here's one more...

Every year we get our daughter's picture taken for the holidays and send it out in cards to family and friends.  This year I'm feeling like we could do without the fuss and expense of a formal photo session.  I think it's part of my "organize and simply" the holidays mood I've adopted lately.

The other day, while the sun was out, I snapped a photo of Olivia with our dog, Maxwell.  After a little photo editing, I thought it would make an adorable photo card for Christmas.  Above is how it looks from the outside.  This is a petal card that I downloaded for my Silhouette.  I used holiday paper from SEI with this great hounds tooth print.  The label is a Labels Eighteen die from Spellbinders stamped with a frame from the Very Vintage Labels No. 18 set.  It's hard to tell, but the cardstock is a pearlized ivory.  It's so pretty in person and has a nice sheen.  And the sentiment is a perfect fit for the label and comes from A Cottage Christmas set. I stamped and cut out a small poinsettia from Big Blooms - Poinsettias and adhered it on the top with a few black adhesive rhinestones in the center.

But my favorite part is the inside.  I added a Velcro dot for easy opening, and the ribbon slips off...

To reveal the cutest little duo you've ever seen...

I stamped a sentiment from Seasonal Remedies and it fit perfectly in the space near the bottom of the photo.  I used white StazOn ink and inked the edges for a snowy effect.  My photo editing included turning the photo black and white, softening the edges and adding some "snow" for more of a wintry look.  This is now my newest favorite photo and I can't wait to use it for our cards this year!

On this last day of SOAP don’t forget to stop by and visit some of the other design team members to catch some wonderful eye candy:

Jennifer, this is gorgeous. You have created a truly memorable holiday card for your friends and family. I love the photo you took of your daughter - I think it has more character and personality than a studio would be able to achieve!
