Today I get to share with you my very first project as an SEI design team member! This autumn theme framed was featured on the SEI blog today:
I love to decorate for the seasons and especially love to decorate using photos of my family. The SEI Homestead collection was a perfect jumping off point for this project. I started with a plain, unfinished wood frame from the craft store. Since I knew I'd be covering the front with paper, I painted just the back and edges so that none of the bare wood would be exposed. Once dry, I covered the front of the frame with this beautiful pumpkin paper. I love the foil accents and elegant design.
The frame around the photo was created using my Grand Labels One die from Spellbinders. I then used a Classic Square die to remove the center and adhered it to the frame using foam dimensionals. Everything got a bit distressed with sanding around the edges and inking with distress ink. I used border stickers from the Homestead collection along with a ric rac border that I created by die cutting SEI velvet paper, which has now become a fast favorite! The last touch was a little stamped tag, scrunched seam binding and a big old button:
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend! Since there's nothing on the schedule this weekend I'm planning some much needed cleaning time in my craft room and then right back to starting a few Christmas projects. I'm determined to make this is the year I get ahead of the holiday rush! Who's with me?!
