Over the past few days I've been playing around with color and style. Today I wanted to make a sweet, sugary card...and I wanted it to be pink! I started by stamping the candy canes from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers in a gray ink and coloring them with Copic markers. I carefully cut them out and glittered them with my favorite chunky glitter. The jar was created by stamping the image with StazOn black ink onto a piece of acetate (transparency). I then cut that out, adding a slit at the top for my candy canes to slide in. Then I tied some pink twine around the jar. To aid this and to prevent the twine from slipping, I punched a tiny hole at both sides to create a slight notch for the twine to rest in:
I used foam dimensionals to adhere the whole thing to the card front and just a slight bit of glue under the jar near the opening (where the twine was sure to cover it). With all that glitter you really can't see any glue peeking through the acetate. Yet another advantage of chunky glitter! And on this next one I'm sure I pushed the cardstock to glitter ratio, but what the heck...
This is something a little different using the Candy Jar Christmas set. It's a vintage style postcard from Mrs. Claus herself! Really, it's from her, see the return address?
This was a fun card to make. I pieced together several of the stamps contained in this new set. Even the postmark was made using the lined stamp. It was tricky, I admit, to curve the stamp on the acrylic block. It took me several attempts and I did have to edit out a smudge on my final photo. So I need to work on the technique, but it looks great with the "Sent With Love At Christmastime" stamp. This set has a lot of possibilities, I'm telling you!
I wanted to be sure to tell you all "thank you" for the wonderful comments you've left the past few days. Blogging and designing for wonderful companies like WMS is terrific, but hearing back from you makes it that much sweeter! Now, make sure your comments continue, as there will be a prize of a stamp set of choice from a random drawing from one of the Design Team's blogs. You have until October 17th at 11:59 p.m. (5:59 a.m. Central, 3:59 a.m. Pacific and 6:59 a.m. Eastern) to leave your comments. Good luck!

LOVE your sparkly candy canes Jennifer!! And now that I see your jar, I realize I forgot the back rim of mine..."DOH"!! LOVE your glittery postcard too. So vintagey and elegant!! Gorgeous!!
I looked at the first card and said to myself, wow, it looks like the candy canes are sticking out of the jar! Then I read your little "how to" and realize it looks that way, because it is that way! Outstanding!!
You efforts paid off on the post card as well. Any child who believes in Santa will be overjoyed to receive it!!! (even those a little too old to believe will be overjoyed, and might find themselves believing again!!)

Hi Jennifer!,
Claire is so lucky with designers like you and the others! This jar of peppermint candies ( we call them Pirulis in Spanish) are so real that you are tempted to eat them! I never win anything, so if I win these I will be in HEAVEN!!!

Jennifer -- your candy cane confections are just glistening with extra "sugar" that any candy lover would gravitate to! I love your super sparkly postcard from Mrs. Santa -- I'm sure this would be her style as she's used to all the snow sparkle in the North Pole. Two terrific cards -- thanks!
2 great cards! It certainly looks like you are having fun!
Beautiful, Jennifer! I love the sparkly candy canes. And the postcard from Mrs Claus is just so sweet! Such great stamping!

WOW! Your candy canes--words fail--they look too beautiful to eat. Your second card has such vintage flair and just love the "dusting" from the North Pole. You've peaked my interest but guess I'll have to settle for old-fashioned glitter to make mine sparkly. Thanks Jennifer!

Can you please tell me - did you stamp the background paper on the candycane card, or is that an OA pp collection? I love that story and the color is perfect.. Thank you so much for listing your supplies, I have been afraid of glitter for too long, I HAVE to try it now!!!

EEEK, these cards are GORGEOUS! I can't even imagine how you were able to manipulate those acetate stamps to make this but it's PERFECT!! I just placed my WMS stamps order and didn't get the candy jar set :( and now I am regretting it. I got 4 sets -- for those of us who must buy them, that's all my budget could muster. Wishing there were digi-images for less of these fabulous designs!!
