Hello and welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for the October Waltzingmouse Stamps release! You won’t believe what Claire has managed to pack into this very special release; and just in time for peak crafting season! To kick things off, today the design team is sharing peeks of one of the six new sets releasing October 15, called Seasonal Remedies. Yes, as you may have guessed by the name, Seasonal Remedies is a holiday companion to Rescue Remedies. And if you like that set, than this one will not disappoint!
For my project today, I decided to make a little holiday decor. After all, who couldn't use more of that?! Plus I couldn't wait to put my recently found vintage sheet music to good use!
This little guy started out as a box. A plain, little box that I wrapped in vintage sheet music. I love snowmen and decided that I needed a little snowman head sitting right on top of that box. I created him with a plain Styrofoam ball, black adhesive rhinestone eyes and smile, an orange paper nose, and a little pink chalk for the cheeks. Then it was glittered. And glittered. And glittered some more. My glitter of choice for vintage Christmas projects like this one is Martha Stewart chunky glitter (or coarse glitter, as it's officially called!). I love the stuff. I added it all over my little guy, including the paper cone hat, ric rack and tinsel ribbon trim, and even the little tag on the side, which was stamped with part of a sentiment included in Seasonal Remedies:
Besides my little snowman, my favorite part of this project is this terrific vintage label (one of many included in Seasonal Remedies) that just makes me smile. I stamped it in black and colored it with a Copic marker. I then inked it up a bit to age it and make it appear as old as the sheet music. Then it was glittered, of course!
