Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release Blog Waltz

Well we’ve made it!  Today’s the big day…four brand new sets are releasing at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  Do you have your list?  Which ones are your favorite?  I have to say, the design team is making it very difficult to choose, aren’t they?  What a talented bunch of ladies!

So today, as tradition holds, the WMS design team is celebrating the release with a blog waltz.  Make sure you start at Claire’s blog so you don’t miss a thing! Today we're showcasing one of the new sets releasing today called A Christmas Cottage.  And it's perfect for this...

Recently, while browsing Pinterest (which I love, by the way!), I ran across this gift giving idea and recipe.  I haven't had a chance to make it yet, so store bought chocolate sauce is filling in for the photo shoot today;)  What makes it even more exciting is the fact that I already have these little wide mouth canning jars that will be perfect for this gift!  First, the card:

The house that is included in this set is terrific!  Plenty of coloring opportunities, or if you prefer, you can leave it uncolored as I have done here.  I love the look of cream, brown (Kraft) and red for the holidays. I simply stamped my cottage in brown ink and used white pigment ink to color in the snow.  I achieved that by using my Stampin' Up! blender pen and simply tapping it against the ink pad.  It picks up the ink nicely and allowed me to color in the snow.  But I also had to add some glitter, of course!  And this coarse glitter from Martha Stewart Crafts is perfect:

Once again, I love the sentiments and the combination of fonts Claire used in this set.  I love nothing better than a nice, script font with a clean block print.  Perfection to me!

Now, the jar.  I simply stamped a heart from the Sweethearts set, using the rock and roll method to make the center of the heart light enough to stamp my sentiment.  I layered circles cut with my Spellbinders dies and adhered them to the top of the jar:

To finish it off, I added some felt ric rac around the lid and red and white twine.  A felt snowflake and button topped it off.  Sweet stuff...indeed!  I think this will make a great teacher, neighbor or co-worker gift this holiday season!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure you leave a comment on each one of our blog posts, as we’ll randomly select a winner to receive a free WMS set of choice!  You have until September 21, 3:59 AM PST to comment.  The winner will be posted on Claire’s blog on September 23.

Next stop on the waltz is the super talented Belinda Chang Langner!  Make sure you keep waltzing to see some amazing Christmas inspiration Waltzingmouse style!  Thanks for your lovely comments the past few days.  You are all too good to me!
