One of the many fun things about being on a design team is that you occasionally get the chance to work with other manufacturers' products when they collaborate with the stamp company. Such is the case this week as Purple Onion Designs is pairing up with Tombow for a blog hop starting today and ending Friday, September 23. I was excited to take part, as I've been using Tombow products for years. I especially love their adhesives. The Mono Aqua Liquid Glue being one of my favorites. The fine tip end is perfect for adhering small trims and ribbons. Or felt, in this case:
I was feeling especially inspired to make a Halloween card, seeing as the Groovy Tombow Dual Brush Markers included the perfect shades for it! I stamped the POD Halloween Noteblock in white ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then colored sections of the noteblock with the markers. The embossing powder resists the markers and as I colored each section I blotted it with a paper towel to remove the ink from the noteblock image. I love the vibrant color of the markers:
I was lucky enough to have a leftover witch's hat from this project, so I incorporated it on this card and added some dyed seam binding, button and twine. The twine was actually "dyed" using the orange brush marker to help it coordinate better with the card:
Make sure you visit the Purple Onion blog for more creative projects from the design team. I'll be back later this week to share my second project for the hop!
