Last Projects of Summer

Here it is September already and I still have summer projects to share!  Things have been quite busy around here as we squeeze out the last few days of summer before school starts next Wednesday.  I love fall, however, and I'm really looking forward to creating for the season.  Lots of ideas, I tell you, but not enough time!!  So here are a few last summer cards for Purple Onion Designs.  I actually have a summer scrapbook that I'm finishing this weekend, so I'll be back to share that soon.

This card was created with the new Beach Chair set from POD.  If this doesn't say summer, I don't know what does!  And this set is especially dear to me because I wrote the sentiments for Michele to use with the set!  And then I didn't even use one on this card...doh!

I created the clouds in the background using this technique I learned from my friend, Belinda.  I'm still perfecting the technique, but it's a very fun look!  For the umbrella, I added some polka dots with my white gel pen.  I kept my coloring light and used my Copic colorless blender pen a lot to give the card a watercolor feel.  I guess I wanted the card to look as relaxed as this scene:

This next one is a fun card using the Summer Noteblock stamp:

I created a little scene using the Home Sweet Home set and the Heart Flower.  I paper pieced the sun from a scrap of paper; this is a great way to use those up!

Although it's September, these cards feel appropriate for a lot of you still in the heat of summer.  While here in the Pacific Northwest much of our summer never reached over 70 degrees, this weekend we're suppose to near 90!  And for those of you in the States, enjoy your long Labor Day weekend!  I know I will; lots of things planned and they all involved getting crafty!
