Last Days of Summer Blog Hop

Today I have the pleasure of participating in another manufacturer blog hop hosted by PSA Essentials. This time I’m sharing a Purple Onion Designs (POD) project for the hop, but I am actually on both design teams! How cool is that?

The theme of the hop is "Last Days of Summer." There are 11 manufacturers participating and contributing prizes to one lucky winner. The winner will be chosen at random but must leave a comment on all 11 blogs to be eligible. So make sure you leave a comment on each blog's "Last Days of Summer" blog post for your chance to win!  You can start at the Purple Onion Designs blog to make sure you don't miss any stops along the way!  And now, onto my summer themed card:

Although a great treat any time of the year, ice cream is definitely much sweeter on a hot summer day!  I'm still planning on making some homemade ice cream before summer is over.  I better get busy!  This ice cream cone was created using the Home Sweet Home set from Purple Onion Designs.  As you may have guessed, I used the house base for the cone (upside down) and one of the clouds for the scoop of ice cream.  I colored both pieces with Copic markers, using my colorless blender to add lines to the cone and some sprinkles to the ice cream.  My cherry is a red button with a twine stem:

Almost looks good enough to eat, right?!  To finish off the card, I drew some lines around the card front, stamped "summer" from the Celebitties Sentiments set and added some hearts with one of my Copic markers.  The ribbon is some seam binding that I dyed using Glimmer Mist (my new favorite thing to do!).

Enjoy the hop today!  Make sure to leave a comment on all 11 manufactures' blog posts for your chance to win some amazing prizes!
