It's been ages since I've been able to play along with a Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! But today I found myself with a little bit of time and I was feeling especially crafty, so I dug right in! Here's this week's sketch, by our very own Belinda Chang Langner! And here is my card:
The best thing about this card is that I created it with leftover pieces I had laying around on my craft table. I love it when that happens! That means all I had to do was create the card base, add some stamping here and there, and I was done. I really have to do this more often; my scraps are taking over!
To create the focal image, I layered several die cut pieces. The yellow base piece was stamped with one of the border stamps from Text-It. The center flower was created with stamps from the Dainty Doilies - Large set that I had leftover from this card. They were already cut out with the Big Scalloped Circle dies from Spellbinders, so I just had to add some foam mounting dots and layer them together. On the card base I added some wonderful swirls with the new Flourishes - Scallops and Dots set. Then the sentiment from Big Day Essentials. A few rhinestones and...voila!
I hope you will join us for this week's sketch. And don't forget about the upcoming Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz! This time the theme is Birthday Party! I'm sure we can all come up with something for this one! Have a great weekend!
