Summer Snapshots

ETA: Jeena - Our team, the Tacoma Rainiers, were playing the Fresno Grizzlies.  We lost, but it was still a lot of fun! Thanks for your comment!

You may recall me saying a few weeks ago that my daughter and I created a list of all the things we wanted to do this summer.  Since we took a big trip to Disneyland over spring break we are staying close to home this summer. Besides that, Mom and Dad have to work (yuck!).  But staying around home doesn't mean you can't have a good time!

We kicked things off with a drive in movie.  I haven't been to one of those in years!  Olivia thought it was great fun to be able to take your dog to the movie with you.  When else can that happen?!

Next we went to a minor league baseball game.  Even though I'm not a huge sports fan, going to a baseball game is a must in the summer time! And we were fortunate enough to have a nice, sunny day.  My sister's family joined us and after the game we were treated to a great fireworks display!

And just last weekend we rode the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad.  The train depot stands on the same ground as when it was built in 1904.  We road on an authentic steam locomotive through the meadows to beautiful Mineral Lake, where we stopped and had dinner before boarding the train to go back.  This is one of my favorite photos of the day:
And here's a shot of Mineral Lake:

I'm using my latest iPhone app, by the way, to edit the above photos.  It's called Snapbucket and it's a great little photo editing app with lots of filters and other effects!  I love the dark, moody look of these shots.

So, besides the scenery and the actual ride, my daughter was pretty excited about meeting the conductor.  He even let her wear his hat!

And that's just the start; school has only been out for three weeks here!  We have plenty of other things remaining on the list and I'm hoping to get a scrapbook done by the time summer's over.  I hope you are all enjoying your summer, too.  What's on your list?

I know I am a weirdo - but I really love that watermark you're using!

Good luck with your scrapbook! It's ambitious, but an awesome goal :)

Hope you're enjoying this non-summer we're having!! ;)

Aside from getting great ideas from your blog and thoroughly enjoying everything you create, I LOVE your baseball photos. OK, I am a Salem-Keizer Volcanoes fan...but who is playing in your game photo? Everett Aquasox? Tri City Dust Devils? Yakima Bears? Spokane Indians? My DH and I go to Volcanoes games whenever we can, since we only live about a half hour away.
