First, I must apologize for the quality of my photos. I have still not found my camera’s battery charger and had to resort to using my iPhone...grrr! But I wouldn’t miss this opportunity! This first set, Build-a-Banner, is so much fun to use, I can’t stop thinking of things to do with it!
This first card uses it as intended – as a banner – but keep reading to see another fun take. And the bird? How cute is he? He’s from the Bird Cage set. I tried to make it look like he was holding the end of the banner. I literally make a little incision and poked the twine right inside his beak! I colored the banner and bird using Copic markers and the twine is Caribbean from The Twinery. Lastly, a flight path was added by piercing holes using a paper piercing needle (click photo for a larger view).
And now, to show you a little versatility, I’ve used the same stamps in a little more unique way:
I love how the “hats” are a bit big for the birds and you can just see their little eyes peeking out. Makes for a more whimsical, fun feel to the card. To make the banners look more like hats, I added some wired eyelash ribbon and little pom poms to the tops. Both the sentiments on these cards are from the Cupcake Frame Doodle set. Another new favorite!
