June WMS Stamp of Approval Parade – Day 4

Today is the last day of Waltzingmouse Stamps SOAP festivities and we’re revisiting a great masculine set, Free Spirit - Boy. When I first saw this set, I realized that it was going to fill a huge hole in my stamp collection. Masculine cards are challenging for me, but this set has helped me out of a jam on more than one occasion!

Now, I'll be honest with you, I don't know how I feel about this card. I think it started as a good idea, but may have just ended up as a hot!

So to start this card, I dragged a green ink pad over the front of white cardstock. I let that dry, then stamped the large graphic circle stamp from Free Spirit - Boy in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Once that was cooled down, I dragged a blue ink pad over the entire piece, dabbing off some of the ink with a paper towel. The clear embossing powder acts as a resist and reveals some of the green underneath once wiped with the paper towel. I then lightly stamped over the whole thing with the grid background stamp from Off Beat Backgrounds. This is a great stamp to use on more masculine cards! Here's a close up of the colors and stamped detail:

To finish the card, I added a sentiment and "2011" from Free Spirit Sentiments set. This way I can use this card for a multitude of occasions - even graduation!

And, finally, I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments over the past few days. I read each and every one with much appreciation. And now, onto the really good stuff…
We hope that you have enjoyed, and been inspired by, the past few days from our Stamp of Approval Parade highlighting last month’s sets and a fabulous masculine set, Free Spirit - Boy. Now it’s time for you to give it a try as we invite you to participate in a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) competition.

Find a card or project from any of the projects posted over the past few days by the WMS Design Team, CASE that project using Waltzingmouse Stamps images, and link it using the Inlinkz on Claire’s blog. At the end of the competition, one project will be randomly selected to be highlighted with a Parade of its own on several of the Design Team blogs.

You have one week to complete and link your project, as the competition will close at 8:00 AM Claire’s time on June 10, which is 3 AM Eastern, 2 AM Central and Midnight Pacific. The winner will be announced on Claire’s blog on June 11. Good luck and have a great weekend!
