September Waltzingmouse Stamps Sneak Peek - Day 1

ETA:  Some how, rather than copying a previous sneak peek post, I managed to edit an existing post.  This is why the comments don't make a lot of sense; they are from the post I accidentally edited and re-published.  I apologize for the confusion!  Isn't technology grand?!

Today’s the first day of sneak peeks for the Waltzingmouse Stamps September release!  Did you miss us?!  Let’s not waste any time and get right to today's peek at one of the four new sets releasing this month called A Cottage Home:

For this first project I created something fun and functional...a new address postcard!  As an adult, I haven't moved many times, but I do know it's a lot of work.  I think stamping and coloring this little house would make it a much more enjoyable experience!  I simply created a text box in a Microsoft Word document and typed my information, adding a line to separate the address information.  You could also simply hand write the whole thing on the back of your cardstock and not worry about printing it out.

I colored the smaller of the two cottages included in this set with Copic markers.  Wouldn't it be fun to make these as a gift and color the house the same color as the recipient's? Now that's an original gift!  I added some flourishes to the front of my postcard with one of my all time favorite WMS sets, Flourishes - Scallops and Dots.  The sentiment is from A Cottage Home and I love the combination of fonts:

One of my favorite coloring spots on this house is the window.  I love creating a little glow from inside.  Makes it truly a cozy cottage:

Now, as much as I loved coloring this cottage, I realize that many of you are intimidated by coloring or just plain don't enjoy it.  Not to fear!  This next card shows this set's versatility and the fact that the houses in this set look just as great uncolored as they do colored!

I think this card also demonstrates that you can take the cottage and turn it into something a little more sophisticated by changing the color palette.  I also only used a portion of the image and stamped my sentiment right next to it.  This shaped my focal point - round instead of rectangular, like it was on my postcard.  I only added a touch of highlighting with a gray Copic marker, just to bring out more of the details:

Don't you want to move right into this sweet little cottage?!

Besides being super excited about new WMS stamps, I’m also thrilled to announce we have three extremely talented ladies joining the WMS design team.  Please welcome Becca Feekan, Clare Buswell and Kelly Schirmer to Waltzingmouse Stamps! Jennifer, these are wonderful cards, I like them all very much. The first one is very elegant and festive, the second one with the sewing theme also looks great and I think it is a perfect idea to use old sewing patterns on that card.
On the third I like the colours and the way how you placed the flourish and the rhinestones.
And the last one is just a great Halloween card. Usually I never make cards for Halloween, but this one with the bats and the black/grey flourishes is just great.

Kind regards
Carola

Your cards are just beautiful, Jennifer! I've been a fan for a while and I have to admit these are 3 of my favorites!! I have to go to D.C. for a New Year's Eve wedding this year, and their colors are black and white, soooo I'm borrowing your lovely idea to wow the bride and groom. Also, just found a box chuck full of patterns from the 50's. Love that I can use one of them to make some cards.....thanks for the idea. And of course, lastly, your Halloween gem is perfect to send people who just can't seem to get the fun side of this outrageously fun holiday. Thanks for all you do, and for inspiring me with your fabulous ideas!!

I'm confused with people commenting on 4 cards and I only see 2 - lol! The 2 that I see are wonderful in their clean and simple design! Love this cottage image!

Hi Jennifer

I'm a little confused because I saw a comment from me written on June 30? I think there is some mix-up.

But never mind, these cards with the new stamp set are gorgeous. On the first one I like how you added the flourishes around the beautifully coloured cottage. And the second one in the non-coloured version is also very pretty.
