I was feeling inspired to create something fresh and Spring like, something for Easter. Although still quite some time away, it's always nice to get ahead of your holiday card making! I made the card base using my Grand Labels One Nestabilities dies. This is one of my absolute favorite shapes! For the focal image, I stamped the sentiment and flowers from the Spring Baskets set from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I masked the flowers before stamping them a second time. I then colored them in using Copic markers. I used my blender pen to create a crosshatch or plaid pattern in the center of the flowers. I thought this gave them more interest than if they were just a solid color.
The background on the card was created using Off Beat Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Oh, how I love this plaid! To finish the card I wrapped ivory silk ribbon around the whole thing and tied it into a bow. A button and some leaf ribbon finished it off. I think I'm going to hang this up in my craft room to remind me that Spring is coming...eventually. Never mind the 6-8 inches of snow we received the day I wrote this post!
Congratulations again, Meredith, on your one year blog birthday! Thanks for inviting me to play along! If you want to try out the Color Challenge for yourself, pop on over to Meredith's blog to have a go! She's awarding blog badges for projects throughout the week and also has a Waltzingmouse Stamp set to give to one lucky winner at the end of the week!
