For Claire's birthday card, I had one very clear idea that I wanted to work in, and that was a shamrock. This is a bit tricky for a birthday card, but I was determined to do it! I dug around in my Waltzingmouse sets and found a few sentiments that would tie this all together. It started with the "so clucky to have you" and "happy birthday" sentiments from Li'l Buddies. I simply swiped the ink off of the first part to leave me with "lucky to have you." (Lucky being the key word.) I then needed the word "friend," which I found in my Roses in Bloom set. I cut out my sentiment with a Labels One die and stamped it with a coordinating stamp from Very Vintage Labels No. 1 set.
For the shamrock, I stamped three small hearts from Sweethearts using VersaMark ink. I then punched them out with my coordinating small heart punch and adhered them to my Labels One shape with foam mounting tape to form the shamrock and allow them to pop off the card a bit. I cut a thin strip of the same cardstock to use as the stem.
The best part about this card is that it is very true...I am so lucky to call Claire my friend! I love being a part of Waltzingmouse Stamps, but it's Claire's friendship that I value the most. Claire, you are a one-of-a-kind, special, special person...a true gem. I hope you have the best birthday ever!
And, now, please hop along to Julia's blog as the celebration continues!
