Jennifer Holmes (that’s me!)
When I initially saw these dies, I thought of a snowflake. Maybe that's not obvious to you, but I guess you can say I have Christmas on my mind! I had recently purchased this adorable clear paint can and wanted to embellish it to hold a gift:
For the lid, I used four different Spellbinders dies. I used one each from the S4-114 Standard Circles Large and S4-116 Standard Circles Small for my base, then one from the S4-302 Crown Circle as the start of my snowflake. I then used one of the snowflakes from the seasonal Create A Flake One set to cut out the center. I used a small paper punch to punch out circles around the entire shape, to make it look more like a lacy snowflake. Here's a closer look:
To further embellish my can, I added a Kraft border that I stamped with the Festive Foliage set from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I used the same stamp and a sentiment from the set for my tag. This set is fast becoming a favorite! I added some shimmery Copper ink to the tips of the foliage to add some holiday sparkle:
Now, while I was at it, I thought a card would be nice. I made this one 5.5 x 5.5 inches square, to accommodate this big fluffy bow and my large snowflake focal point. More stamping with the lovely pine cone stamp from Festive Foliage, along with tiny tag using a sentiment from the set. Love this font!
For the card, I decided to emboss the Crown Circle shape. I also opted to not paper punch additional holes, for a slightly different look. It really is a unique shaped die with a lot of possibilities. Just think what you could add to each one of those little circles!
