The Day After...

Well, here we are, the day after Halloween. There are bits of it all over my house; glitter, candy wrappers, and remnants of the costume. And, unfortunately, I have a sick kid at my house who really isn't able to enjoy much of it. Olivia woke up yesterday with the very start of a cold. We limited our festivities but allowed her to trick or treat just a little bit. She was so disappointed that she may have to miss it! Here she is in her Snow Princess costume last night:

I bought the dress and added a snowflake overlay. Thanks goodness Christmas fabric is in the stores early! I also made the fur stole and added snowflakes wherever I could. And here's a close up of the make up. Lots of glitter and shimmer on the eyes. She loved it, of course, although she has a slightly sick subdued smile here:

Olivia was so excited when people correctly guessed her costume. I have a feeling this outfit will get a lot of wear in the next few months. I think it can double as a Christmas dress, don't you?

As we were getting ready to head out the door, I realized I hadn't yet inked up my Tiny Treats: Halloween set from Papertrey Ink (gasp!). I had this idea to make Pixie Stick Pockets using a library pocket download I purchased online for my Silhouette. I simply resized it to about two inches wide, big enough for a few sticks to fit inside. I cut them out of cute patterned paper and simply stamped and punched out a circle tag to finish it off:

Now, that is officially my last Halloween project I'm going to show you! Onward to Christmas! Okay, I'll be making Thanksgiving things, too, but just not as many. Poor Thanksgiving - it always gets lost in the Christmas rush!

I LOVE snowflakes - my entire wedding was a snowflake theme, and at Christmas, my house is covered in them. Olivia's costume is right up my ally, and something I've always thought would be fun for one of my girls - I think you did a wonderful job!!
