Today I wanted to spend a little more time with the Nutcracker Sweet set. Because it is, after all, so sweet!
This little nutcracker has been colored, cut out and sitting on my work top for many days now. I've just been pondering what to do with him. Then I remembered the fabulous Three Kings box Claire designed. I knew it would be the perfect shape for my little nutcracker. And the template is available for free on the WMS site! Try it out! It's incredibly easy to put together and it makes such an impressive little box, no matter how you finish it off.
For my little box, I did some simple background stamping by placing several of the sentiment stamps onto my acrylic block in a straight line. I then went back and stamped the tiny snowflake in between phrases. I did a bit of subtle inking around the edges with a soft green and some distress ink. I then adhered my nutcracker using foam dimensionals so he would pop off the box:
To finish off the box, I tied a simple white organza ribbon around the top, and added a tag with white sparkly eyelash ribbon. This stuff is a lot of fun. The wire in the ribbon makes it easy to manipulate so that you can get it to go where you need it to. A little snowflake was added to a green button and we're done:
A simple presentation and a nice size to fit a sweet treat! Thanks for stopping by and for the terrific comments over the past few days during my sneak peeks. Now make sure you hit the next stop on the waltz, which is the super talented Laurie Schmidlin. Enjoy your Sunday!
