Sweet Peas

Happy Wednesday! Is it just me, or is summer moving way too quickly? I'm seeing school supplies in the stores already and I'm just not ready for it! Maybe it's because we only just started to get some nice weather here. Actually, it's been a little too hot for me. We got into the upper 90's last week and now we're back into the 60's. It's a little extreme, but I won't complain!

So tonight I'm sharing with you a rejected card. That is, I submitted it to a magazine publication call and it didn't get accepted. No hard feelings here; it was only my second time trying to get published. I know I'll have a lot of no's before I get a yes. Until then, I love to stamp and share my cards with you!

I used a classically pretty color combo on this card - Lavender Moon and Spring Moss. Purple and green are just so pretty together. I love the slight pink tone in this card, too. I colored my sweet peas with Copics and really like the softness of the coloring. I deliberately removed some of the color afterwards with a colorless blender. I like the highlight it gives to the flower:

So, I have a ton to do before the summer is over, do you? I have a list of things to do this summer and I haven't even crossed off half of them! Of course, it's a list in my head, so who else would know but me if I didn't do them all?!?

Stamps: Year of Flowers: Sweat Peas, Fancy Flourishes (PTI)
Paper: Lavender Moon, Spring Moss, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Ink: True Black, Vintage Touch Chai & Chamomile (PTI), Black Memento (Tsukineko)
Other: Lavender Moon vintage button (PTI), Lavender Moon swiss dot ribbon (PTI), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Labels Eight die (Spellbinders), Lavender Moon & Spring Moss Copic Color Collections (PTI)

Oh, keeping your list going in your head?? You're much more talented than I. I have to write it down. I'll admit it - I live by the list, the written list. :-) I love your card! So very pretty. Hard to believe it wasn't published. I predict you'll be published sooner rather than later.

Jennifer I just love your designs! Keep on keeping on and you'll be a star someday! Honestly, I think many of your cards could have and should have been published a long time ago!
