You're A Rock Star

Hellllooooo, Friday! I'm so glad we've made it! I've been watching the forecast all week long and it looks like this weekend is going to be sunny and warm! They are predicting temperatures close to 80 degrees! Believe me, people, this is huge for those of us in the Northwest who have been sick to death of the rain and 50 degree cold weather. After all, it's June already!

So today's card is a simple, but fun one. I made this for my friend at work who was recently recognized with an award:

It's so fun to have a stamp set that includes a sentiment like this! And I love the look of Kraft and Raspberry Fizz! Who knew those two colors could look so good together?! This card, like I said, is simple, but there are a few details to it. I added (my favorite) scalloped borders and popped the star up with a foam dimensional. When it was done I wanted to add yet some more detail. I was too lazy to get out my sewing machine, so instead I pierced the edges of the background paper by hand with a paper piercing needle. It's hard to see, but it does add a little something extra:

And that's all there is to it! Thanks to Debbie Olson, again, who gave me the inspiration for this card. Sometimes simple is the way to go!

Have a great day and I'll see you back here tomorrow for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Hey, did anyone notice I posted every day this week?! Whew...don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep up, but I'm going to try!
