Waltzingmouse Stamps June Blog Waltz

Yay! It's Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz day! And, as usual, you have to keep your eyes open! This time around the design team has hidden some little lanterns amongst their projects. Spot them, count them, and enter your guess on the Waltzingmouse forum! Today the theme of the waltz is to make cards for the men (or boys) in our lives. I didn't necessarily make a masculine card, but I did make a card for a boy...a very little boy:

Yes, it's a baby boy card! I kinda feel like I'm cheating a bit...lol...not exactly a manly card! But I couldn't help myself! I just love this vintage looking plaid background, created with Off Beat Backgrounds using distress ink and stamping on the diagonal. Next came the polka dots on the onesie, using the same set. I used a lot of foam dimensionals on this card to pop up the entire plaid layer, as well as the trim pieces on the onesie. I thought it made it look a lot more realistic than leaving it flat. I love that I found this button in my collection! It's probably a defective one, but I thought it looked like a star and it seemed perfect to add to the onesie:

The final touches are the ribbon and little tag. I combined a few sentiments from the Sweethearts set - this set is not just for Valentine's!

Now I'm off to do a little waltzing myself. Don't forget to count up any little lanterns you spy on the design team's photos! You might just win yourself some free stamps!

When Claire said the theme was masculine, I never thought about what AGE the male might be! Your card is just charming and I love that blue button on the onesie - perfect touch!
