Birthday Wishes

Hey, is anybody keeping track?! That's right...we've almost made it to Friday! Whoo hoo! And today I'm sharing a little birthday card. I think it has a touch of elegance, without being too fancy:

You'll have to excuse my dark, shadowy background on this photo. I wanted to capture the pattern that is underneath the linen vellum on the bottom half of the card. Do you see it? I love this damask stamp from Purple Onion Designs (on sale now!). It has to be one of my favorites for creating backgrounds. I turned the stamp as I went, to get good coverage on my card. There's something about this green and black combo that I really like. To finish my card I simply added some clear rhinestones to the scallops:

This card will go right into my birthday card stash. I love having extra birthday cards on hand. It's nice to send a handmade card to someone who isn't expecting it, just because. Who have you sent a card to lately?

Stamps: Damask, Birthday Wishes (POD)
Paper: Spring Moss, Stamper's Select White, True Black, Linen Vellum (PTI)
Ink: True Black (PTI)
Other: Clear rhinestones (KaiserCrafts), large scalloped border die (PTI), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), classic and scalloped oval dies (Spellbinders)
