Seein' Spots

Monday, Monday. The first day back to work after a vacation is always a tough one. But, all things considered, today wasn't bad. I was productive and still have that "fresh from vacation" attitude. I predict it won't last much longer; I have a very busy work week ahead with meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Ahh...what I wouldn't do to be back in the Phoenix sun once again. Well, back to reality and back to making cards! Tonight I want to share my first card using my new Dot Spot set from Papertrey Ink. After not stamping for a whole week, I needed to start with something simple, to get myself back into the groove:

The Dot Spot set is fun to use for creating great backgrounds. I inked each stamp with one or more colors before stamping it onto white cardstock: Aqua Mist, Water Lily Green, or New Leaf. I decided to use Smokey Shadow as my card base and I really like how it looks with the Aqua Mist cardstock I used for my sentiment. Note to self: do this again!

And, it seems most cards only get better with a little bling, so I added some clear adhesive rhinestones to either side of my sentiment. It also helped to fill in the space. I love this swirly font combo from the Star Prints set.

Hope you are all having a great start to your week. I'm already thinking about the weekend and a few projects I need work on. April is nearly half way over and May starts the whirlwind of holidays and birthday in our families, so no time to waste!

Cute card! I have this set, too, and it has yet to see ink! Maybe it would be a good one to pull out to help me get out of my post-vacation veg-out, too!
