Little Baby Bee

Baby cards are hard to resist making. I don't have an overwhelming need to make them, just a want. But recently my friend, Brian, and his wife had their first baby (a boy) and I had a legitimate excuse to make a baby card:

I wanted to make a card that wasn't traditional, because this is not a traditional couple. No obvious baby blue here. Instead, since I used the bee image from Baby Button Bits, I decided to go with yellow and added chocolate, rather than black, as a second color. It's a simple card, but I love the little bee and his button:

It's pretty rare for me that the card comes before the gift, but in this case, I do believe I'll now have to buy some baby Burt's Bees products as a gift with this card. Won't that be perfect?! And congrats to my friend Hollie, the Great Aunt! I've seen the baby photos (and video) and he is truly an adorable baby!

Stamps: Baby Button Bits (PTI)
Paper: Lemon Tart, Dark Chocolate, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Ink: Dark Chocolate (PTI), Black Tuxedo Momento (Tsukineko)
Other: Vintage Cream & Dark Chocolate vintage buttons (PTI), Summer Sunrise Copic Color Collection (PTI), Dark Chocolate swiss dot ribbon (PTI), classic and scallop long rectangle dies (Spellbinders), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), foam mounting tape (3M)

Very excellent "non gender specific" card. Baby Carlos is very cute and oh that hair, just like his daddy's when he was born.
