Happy Birthday My Friend!

A big Happy Birthday to my friend, Hollie! Sorry, Hollie, I didn't get a card in the mail, but how about one posted to my blog? I am sharing it with a few hundred of my friends, but it's really all for you, Hollie! LOL!

This is a simple, one layer card. I stamped the large butterfly image included in the Vintage Butterfly set from Purple Onion Designs using white pigment ink. After it dried well, I used Copics to color it in, adding some shading by using my colorless blender to remove color and reveal some of the white ink underneath. I then added some clear adhesive pearls to the butterfly body. To finish it off I used a white gel pen to draw a rectangle around the butterfly to frame it in.

I love the watercolor look it created. And this butterfly image is so cool! The set comes with four butterfly images, all different sizes. I will definitely be using this set again soon!

Happy Birthday, Hollie, and I hope you enjoyed your day!

P.S. I noticed Michele at Purple Onion Designs still has the sale prices listed on her sentiment stamps! If you hurry on over there now you might be able to grab some at half price!

Beautiful card, Jennifer! Hollie is a lucky lady - hope she has a fab b-day. I love how your technique on the butterfly makes its wings look almost transparent in places. Gorgeous.
