Love Grows...and a Winner!

I took our tree down today, packed up the decorations and tried to get everything in order for back to school and work tomorrow. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get back into a regular routine. It feels good to clean up, put away and move on.

Before I forget, thank you all for the lovely comments and birthday wishes yesterday! You are the kindest, sweetest folks and I'm lucky to have you reading my blog! I had a great day and ate too much of this wonderful thing. It's dangerous to know that chocolate cake this good is only 40 minutes away! And, before I announce the big winner of my birthday contest, a card to share:

I'm using more of those great heart accents by Heidi Grace. I think I might have to go back for more! Here I've used them as flowers for a Valentine's inspired card. Everyday Button Bits from Papertrey Ink is a versatile set; as you can see, you don't even need buttons to use it! To create the background for the flowers I used my Aqua Mist Copic Color Collection. I'm still learning how to use my Copics but this was an easy technique. I mostly used the lighter shades and my blending pen to create a soft watercolor effect, adding a bit of the darker shade along the top edge:

Another simple card using Kraft cardstock. I'm using so much of the stuff I have to order it by the truck! And now, the moment you're probably waiting for, the winner of my card-a-month contest. Can I get a drum roll, please??? I used to pick the lucky number, and here it is:

And comment number 43 belongs to Jen who wrote:

"I have been a watcher of your blog for some time. Not sure if it was from the beginning but I have lurked about for some time. Thank you so much for all the wonderful creations that you share with us. Hope you had a wonderful birthday."

Congratulations, Jen! I will be contacting you soon to get your mailing address so that I can mail out your first of many creations to come!

Thanks again for your comments yesterday. It really made my day!
