So tonight I'm sharing a fun little project that I completed a few weeks ago. I have had this little chipboard house book for quite some time now (thanks, Michele!) and decided to finally put it to some good use to make a little Christmas album:
Of course, it didn't start this way. I had to take the whole book apart and bind it with my Bind-it-All at the roof line. But before doing that, each page was covered with Basic Grey Wassail patterned paper. The front cover is where all the fun takes place! I should have taken pictures as I made it, because, now that I think about it, there is a lot of detail here. My favorite being the door:
To make the door, I used my long rectangle die. I cut out two doors. The first one I adhered to the front as is. The second one I used my smaller long rectangle dies to cut out panels. I added ink around the cut edges to highlight the panels. It's hard to see, but it's a pretty realistic looking door. I adhered the second door to the first one with foam mounting tape. Then there's the wreath with its little tag:
The wreath I made with my classic and scallop circle dies. The little tag has a sentiment from Mixed Messages, one of my all time favorite Papertrey Ink sets. And I love the doorknob - just a simple adhesive pearl. What a fun project this turned out to be! I may have to buy some more of those chipboard house books now!
And before I forget, congratulations to Linda S. who was the first person to let me know I had 100 followers! Of course, after this big news, I now have quite a few more than 100! Thanks to you all! Linda, your little prize package will be out to you shortly!
And one last thing...my own little sneak peek of a project I'll be sharing soon. Can you guess what this might be?
