Holiday Cheer

Happy Tuesday to you! I'm happy to report that I made great strides with my daughter's Halloween costume and was able to get it to about 90% completion over the weekend. It's a great feeling, especially since I'm not the most experienced seamstress. I'll share photos soon, when it's complete and the model is ready to show it off! Speaking of Halloween...how about a Christmas card?!? I know, it makes no sense...

We all know how quickly the holidays come at us once Halloween is over, so I'm making an effort to get a few Christmas cards done. Now this isn't your typical Christmas color combination, is it? I love Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy and Berry Sorbet together. I stamped the card base with the Berry Sorbet ink using my Damask Designs set. I love the tone on tone looks you can achieve by using the same ink and cardstock. Next, the Pure Poppy layer was stamped with Vintage Cream ink using Fancy Flourishes. There just isn't a card that couldn't use a little flourishing, ya know? And then there's the stocking. I can't put down my Stocking Prints set these days! The polka dot one seems to be my favorite at the moment, but I love them all! And the font combination on the sentiments is great, too.

I hope you are all having a great day so far. With the weather getting colder and wetter, I'm becoming quite the domestic diva. I even baked last night...on a Monday night! And, by the way, the Apple Dumplings were delicious and a big hit at dinner this weekend. I urge you to try out the recipe - and don't let the Mountain Dew scare you!
