Happy Saturday! Here we are...the first weekend after the start of school. Olivia was so ready this week to be going to Kindergarten and to ride the school bus. Here she is, lined up waiting for the bus. How excited does she look?!?
She was wearing her dinosaur name tag so that her teacher could spot her getting off the bus right away. Our neighborhood is only .83 miles from the school, so I'm sure Olivia was a little disappointed that the ride was so short...lol. Oh well, it's good peace of mind for Mom. Of course, we followed the bus and snapped a few more pictures of her arriving at school. The next day she asked me, "Who's going to be taking pictures of me today, Mom?" LOL...I think she's ready for the paparazzi!
So, here I am, getting geared up for fall and we are supposed to have a gorgeous weekend with temperatures in the mid-80s! Now how can I feel super inspired for autumn leaves, pumpkins and Halloween when I'm sweating?! Oh well, I'm not going to let that stop me! Here's a card that's fall inspired, but not overly so:
All the sudden I'm very addicted to my border punches. This is my latest purchase, the embossed curve border punch by EK Success. Yes, it does actually leave an embossed detail on the scallops as it punches. Perfect! I did a little more embossing on the light gray layer. I wanted it to be subtle, so I actually took my bone folder and smoothed it out slightly before adhering it to my card. I think it added what I needed without making the card too busy. And I love this Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. The colors are great and I just happened to have some ribbon and pearls that matched perfectly. Love with that happens!
Enjoy your weekend! I've received a few ideas about charities to send my supplies to, but I'm waiting to hear back on a few more people who are doing some research for me. I will likely choose a local organization, but I will let you know what I find out in case you are interested in doing the same.
P.S. Does anyone know what could be happening with my visit counter (on the right hand side)? I was over 90,000 hits the other day, now it's showing over 12,000, with a leading zero. Strange. Has this happened to you?!?
