Why?

This is what I've been working on tonight. Why I do this to myself, I don't know. My husband told me, "Just buy something and get it over with." But, nooooo. I insisted on making each and every Valentine for my daughter's Preschool class. And I didn't just stick to a little card. Nooooo...instead I decided on making a combo card and treat. These, my friends, are the lollipop covers of Valentine's Day 2009.

These are not hard to make. But when I do anything at the last minute, I am painfully aware of how much time it takes to do these little projects. And, of course, I forgot to take photos for a tutorial. So for tonight, I share these photos. I'll make a few more covers, take more photos, and return with the tutorial and details soon. But for now, it's off to bed for me...

Hey Jennifer- I was thinking the same thing the night I made 7 of the same Valentines Day cards for people at work. I gave myself one hour, and it took almost 2! To top it off, half of them gave me IOU's instead of cash- sheesh.

I laughed outloud when I read your comments! I become OBSESSIVE when I'm creating my granddaughter's class treats! I look forward to the tutorial on this - I'll be making them for Easter treats! Love your blog.

I am the same way!! I am always asking myself WHY am I doing this!! I made (and decorated!)170 favor boxes for my daughters wedding and after I thought WHY didn't I just purchase something? We do it because we care and we want it to be extra special.
I look forward to you showing us how you make these!! Gail S.

OMGOsh super adorable. And just think....you are creating memories for your little girl. That's why! So worth it. I have been remembering the decorated kleenex boxes we used to make when we were in grade school for all our little classmates to fill up. Good times, good times. Happy Valentines Day!!!

These treats are adorable! I wish my daughter still appreciated handmade treats like this. This year, 4th grade, she refuses to take any homemade treats...even a card for her teachers. Ah well, it takes away that last minute frenzy and makes my life a little easier.
