Here it is, my first decoration of the Fall season! I put this arrangement up yesterday. If you are regularly reading my Five Random Things, then you already know that one of my favorite things about Fall is decorating my house. A few years ago I installed this vase right outside my front
door. It's a great, unexpected place to put flowers to greet your guests. Another decoration that usually stays out all year round is this old milk...thing. I don't know what it's called, but I got it at a garage sale several years ago and think it makes a great Fall addition to the front. In October I'll go to our local pumpkin patch and get corn stalks to put inside. What's this darn thing called, it escapes me know. Milk...thing. Leave me a comment if you know the name! So, do you decorate for Fall? If so, when do you usually start putting up your decorations? Here in Washington State the weather has definitely "turned" and it's feeling like Fall to me. And I love it!

I'm in Massachusetts and I am decorating tomorrow, the weather here has made the change, but Thursday is going to be 90 they say. Still I love the fall and can't wait any longer!
I like your milk can :) Think it would look great with corn stalks and a pumpkin nestled up beside it.
Enjoyed reading your blog - thanks for sharing.
Oh and those cans can be quiet expensive... http://www.rptrading.biz/MilkCans.html
I usually wait to decorate until mid-September---not because I want to, but it still feels too much like summer before that! I love that flower vase---where did you get that? So festive!
I ordered the vase from a home decorating party I went to several years ago. But I would think you could get something similiar at one of those big bath and home stores. And, yes, I can't wait to get a few pumpkins for my front steps!
Very cute Jennifer! I have been thinking about what I love about Fall (while I was laying on the beach)as I too love Fall in Washington. I came up with a few things that I thought I would share with you. Major decrease in the tourist population, shorter checkout lines at Safeway, making a left turn out of the driveway in less than 5 minutes, having the beach to myself and those spectacular October Maui sunsets.
Better late than never! I love fall too! I'm inspired by your post to get busy and do some fall decorating!
