My order from Papertrey Ink (PTI) finally arrived yesterday! I was so excited to try out their new color, Pure Poppy. I ordered the cardstock, ink and ribbon to match. After I opened everything up and sat down to create something, I quickly realized that I don't don't use red a lot, unless I'm making Christmas cards. Well, that has got to change, because this red shade is fab-ou-lous! And I love it paired with PTI's Kraft cardstock. I pulled out an old stamp set for this card and did some very quick coloring with my chalks and blender pen. My favorite part about this card is the embossed background! It takes so little effort, yet adds so much to your card. And to finish off those little dots, I dragged my New Canvas ink pad right over them to turn them white! The finishing touch to the card was to add the sentiment with some of my new satin ribbon. And to really finish it off, I used a little Stickles and my Stardust pen to give those simple little flowers a little bling.
I have so many ideas on how to use this new shade of red, and they aren't just about Christmas, either! Stay tuned!
