Shabby Chic Butterflies

The subtitle to this post could be "Happy Little Accident," because that's how this card started, with an accident (remember Bob Ross???) I decided to dig out my scalloped scissors for this card. They are a million years old, which is probably why they didn't work too well as I was trying to cut my paper. I ended up with tattered scallops. But as I looked a little closer, I kinda liked it! It looked distressed and tattered...shabby chic! So I went with it and finished the card. Too many times I throw cards out because they aren't just perfect. Well, this time I decided to work with it! I love the color combo here: aqua, vanilla and kraft. It has a vintage feel, very old fashioned. I dug out my Natural Beauty set by Stampin' Up! and thought the butterfly and the block of words worked very nicely. I highlighted a few of the words and the butterflies with Diamond Stickles. Not only did I use Distress Ink on the edges of the card, but I also stamped my images with it. That was a first for me, but I liked the faded look it gave to the card. So, the lesson here is: Bob Ross was right! Accidents can be happy!

Hi Jennifer!
Oh, how well I recall "happy accidents"; and how much I used to look forward to his show. Thanks for the reminder--HOW long ago was that??? Your 'end result' is really quite effective--gotta love it!
