The title to this post is so ironic, because this card did not give me any joy when creating it. I photographed it, made changes, photographed it a second time, made more changes, then photographed it one last time. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but I can tell you that I like it much more than I did before the two revisions. This card is really a hybrid - a combination of digital and paper elements. I was inspired by Rhonna Farrer's Vintage Label Papers that I bought last year. I thought they would make a great Christmas project. I printed out four different digital papers, cut them up, and adhered them to a Kraft card base. I then stamped my tree onto one of the papers, cut it out and adhered it to the card. I added a transparency as an overlay that I cut to fit the card and stamped all over it with white StazOn. I stamped the word Joy and brushed some paint on to the back of the transparency to make it stand out. The red turned out too bright, even though I mixed it with some brown, so I dragged my Dark Chocolate ink pad lightly over it to darken it up (first revision). And, because I just couldn't leave this card be, I went back and added the Dark Chocolate ribbon and green eyelash ribbon (because I liked it so much on this card - second revision).
So I must apologize for not taking more pictures of how I constructed this card. I really wasn't sure that it was going to be a "keeper." It's either a great vintage Christmas card or just a plain big ol' mess. Can't decide.
